The News

Years in print:

1863- 1867

It was published by a company of which Edwin Harrison was president and George Mills the editor. At first it gave promise of a successful career, but soon was "sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought." Mr. Harrison withdrew, resources became exhausted and the News collapsed, and was absorbed into the Dispatch.
(From the Encyclopedia of the History of Missouri edited by Howard L. Conrad, 1902).
